618. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if he will include an organisation (details supplied) in the list of stakeholders that will be supported in improving water quality. [6403/25]

Last August my Department published "Water and Agriculture - a collaborative approach" which identifies the measures taking place, as well as my Department's role in working with the agri-food industry and farmers in tandem to improve water quality. This included the establishment and ongoing facilitation of the Agriculture Water Quality Working Group which has operated since 2023.

The named organisation participated constructively in that stakeholder group until late 2024.

In late 2024, a proposal was received from the named organisation seeking financial support from my Department regarding their work in relation to improving water quality. At that stage, my officials responded seeking clarity regarding the proposal.

Arising from that request, a revised, more detailed, proposal was received from the named organisation. My officials are considering that proposal and will revert to the named organisation in due course.
