The procurement of IT external services is essential to support my Department in providing a high quality service to the public in a cost effective and efficient manner and is governed by regulatory, legal and procedural frameworks.
Where required, external service providers are engaged for a fixed period following procurement exercises conducted in accordance with Departmental procedures that are compliant with EU and national legislation and with guidelines set down by the Department of Public Expenditure NDP Delivery and Reform. Contracts are awarded based on the most economically advantageous tender or lowest price.
A breakdown of annual expenditure, including expenditure on IT external service provision, and a list of purchases with descriptions for €20,000 and above for the years 2012 onwards are published on my Department's website. The link to access them is:
The purchases with descriptions for €20,000 and over in respect of Q4. 2024 and 2025 will be published on my Department's website in due course.
