249. To ask the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to outline the exact title of each Minister of State in his Department; to outline their delegated functions and attributable budget heading for each of these functions; the timeframe for when such delegated functions will be formally notified to the Dáil; and if he will make a statement on the matter. On January 29, the Government, upon the nomination of the Taoiseach, formally appointed Ministers of State and assigned their responsibilities.

In respect of my Department, Niamh Smyth TD has been appointed Minister of State with special responsibility for Trade Promotion, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation. Alan Dillon TD has been appointed Minister of State with special responsibility for Small Businesses and Retail. Minister Dillon also has the special responsibility for Circular Economy in the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications.

My Department is working with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Department of Arts, Media, Communications, Culture and Sport to agree the details of functions to be transferred from and to my Department, in line with the Taoiseach's announcement of the members of the 35th Government.

This work will inform the details of the delegation of functions to the Ministers of State in my Department. I will request the Government to approve orders delegating functions to the Ministers of State once the details are finalised.
