My officials have sought an update from IDA on this matter and I am advised that IDA Ireland is fully supportive of the proposed sale of the Chambers Engineering site in IDA Swords Business Park to Siemens. In this regard, the IDA is actively engaged with the solicitors for Chambers Engineering Ltd to facilitate the sale and I am informed that from IDA's most recent correspondence with Chambers' solicitors that the proposed purchaser has accepted the development timelines proposed, which many factors can impinge upon, as the Deputy is aware. The IDA has reached out to Chambers solicitors again in this regard and will engage further in relation to the timelines if required.
Under its legislation, IDA is obliged to deal with all proposed assignments of leasehold sites on IDA Business Parks pursuant to the provisions of the terms of the relevant 999-year lease, which comes with a restricted use covenant generally allowing Industrial use only, or use in line with the Statutory Instrument No. 81/2010 which defines Service Industries that can also fall within scope, and that SI is available on the website.
