I am advised by Revenue that the person in question submitted a Form 11 Income Tax return for the tax year 2022, in paper form, which was received by Revenue on 27 September 2023. The person submitted a separate note which gave a breakdown of various social welfare income received during the year and a summary of self-employed income.
The principles of the self-assessment apply to Income Tax and places the onus on the taxpayer to complete all relevant sections of the Form 11. From a review of the Form 11 submitted, Revenue noted that "Section A – Personal Details", "Section B – Self Employed Income", "Extracts of Accounts" on page 8 and "Social Welfare Payments" on page 14 were not completed.
There has been ongoing correspondence from Revenue, aimed at assisting the person in question to complete the Form 11 by providing guidance on how to complete the form, including video links and other useful information. There has been further assistance provided over the phone endeavouring to assist the person with regard to completing the Form 11 and assist with any other filing difficulties.
Revenue will continue to engage and assist the person to complete all relevant sections of the Form 11 as required to meet his/her obligations.
