120. To ask the Taoiseach and Minister for Defence if he or any of his officials or Army officers received a request or discussed with ESB Networks managers the option or possibility of assistance by Óglaigh na hÉireann in the aftermath of the recent Storm Éowyn; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I can confirm that the Defence Forces, through the GTF emergency responses mechanisms, received several requests for assistance from ESB in the aftermath of Storm Éowyn. The supports provided ranged from the provision of helicopter flights carrying ESB personnel in order to identify the extent of the affected network, the collection and distribution of generators from Dublin Airport to sectors that had been worst affected by the storm and the making ready of accommodation for ESB crews involved in restoration works to the network if needed.
