In December 2024, the Department of Defence was informed that an operational decision had been taken by the military authorities to proceed with the closure of the DFTC Fire Station. In advance of the execution and promulgation of this decision it was directed that the military authorities advise in writing:

(i) the Chief Executive of Kildare County Council; and

(ii) all residents and occupiers of premises in the DFTC on the decision now being taken by the military authorities.

The Department are awaiting confirmation from military management that this has been actioned and are consequently unable to provide further details on this matter.
