Community Development Projects

744. To ask the Minister for Rural and Community Development to detail the funding avenues available for sports, arts and community facilities and amenities in growing towns and villages. [4727/25]

My Department operates a large number of funding schemes aimed at supporting communities and community facilities. In order to empower local responses to local needs, the majority of schemes operated by my Department are administered in partnership with the Local Authorities, Pobal, or the Local Development Companies. It should be noted that other Departments also operate schemes with regard to sports and the arts, in particular.

The main capital development programmes provided by my Department are:

  • Rural Regeneration and Development Fund (RRDF),
  • Community Centre Investment Fund (CCIF),
  • Community Recognition Fund (CRF),
  • Town and Village Renewal Scheme (TVRS),
  • Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS),
  • LEADER
  • CLÁR programme,
  • Local Enhancement Programme/Community Enhancement Programme.
There are also a range of other smaller supports including the Walks Scheme, Connected Hubs and Broadband Connection Points.
