To ask the Minister for Health if she is aware of the level of alcohol brand advertising broadcast on terrestrial television during the Six Nations Rugby Championship game between Ireland and England; if this contravenes the daytime broadcasting watershed under Section 19 of the Public Health (Alcohol) Act 2018; and if she will make a statement on the matter. To ask the Minister for Health if she is aware that an alcohol brand was advertised in the middle of the field of play during the Six Nations Rugby Championship game between Ireland and England at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin; if this contravenes the restrictions on advertising during sporting events under Section 15 of the Public Health (Alcohol) Act 2018; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 709 and 710 together.
Under the Public Health (Alcohol) Act 2018, matters relating to enforcement and compliance are the responsibility of the National Environmental Health Services of the Health Service Executive. I have referred the question to the Health Service Executive for consideration and direct reply to the Deputy.
