Ministerial Responsibilities

To ask the Minister for Health to outline the exact title of each Minister of State in her Department; to outline their delegated functions and attributable budget heading for each of these functions; the timeframe for when such delegated functions will be formally notified to the Dáil; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The following Ministers of State have been appointed to the Department of Health:

Mary Butler T.D., Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach with special responsibility as Government Chief Whip and at the Department of Health with special responsibility for Mental Health.

Jennifer Murnane O’Connor T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Health with special responsibility for Public Health, Well being and the National Drugs Strategy.

Kieran O’Donnell T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Health with special responsibility for Older People and at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage with special responsibility for Housing.

In terms of their Delegated Functions and attributable budget, the Delegation of Ministerial Functions Orders setting out the statutory and non statutory functions are currently in development and it is expected that they will be published at the end of the month or early March.
