The Diabetes Policy and Services Review Steering Group, which is leading the Diabetes Policy and Services Review, was established in July 2024 and includes representatives from the Department of Health, the Health Service Executive (HSE), and Diabetes Ireland.
A broader stakeholder group has also been established to support the work of the review. This group includes representatives from a wide range of medical and healthcare professions as well as patient advocates.
The stakeholder group held their first meeting on the 3rd of July 2024. Further meetings were held on 26 September 2024 and 21 November 2024.
On completion of the Diabetes Policy and Services Review, the Steering Group will provide a report, which will include key findings in relation to diabetes care, recommendations and a set of actions to improve service delivery and patient outcomes. It is intended that this report will be available to me early this year.
