Storm Éowyn caused significant disruption to the operation of our hospital services. Non-urgent appointments had to be postponed with priority being placed on the continuity of critical emergency services including ambulance, ED, dialysis, oncology treatment and pre-natal care for expectant mothers.

Staff across all services worked extended shifts , and contingency arrangements were made for staff accommodation to ensure shifts could be covered and that on call teams were available.

The HSE has advised that, appointments for elective surgeries and outpatient clinics that had to be postponed will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
