595. To ask the Minister for Health if she is aware that staff at the National Ambulance Service are on the verge of industrial action; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4110/25]

The Department of Health understands that The National Ambulance Service are currently engaging in an Industrial Relations process under the auspices of the WRC.
The Department of Health would encourage all parties to remain in process in the interests of users of our health service.

To ask the Minister for Health if she is aware that the National Ambulance Service is not training or hiring advanced paramedics (APs), that the last internal recruitment was run in 2021, with the last training course run in 2023; if there are plans for more AP training and recruitment this year; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 596 and 597 together.
As these are operational and service matters for the National Ambulance Service (NAS) I have asked the Health Service Executive (HSE) to respond the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
