The Family Reunification application for the person referred to by the Deputy has been received by my Department and continues to be processed at this time. All applications are processed in chronological order.
I understand the wait times can be frustrating and that applicants are eager to have their families join them in the State, however, I want to assure anyone who has an application submitted that my Department is doing everything possible to progress applications as quickly as possible.
The speed in which a decision can be made largely depends on the quality of the application received. My Department will continue to engage with the applicant if any further information is required to assist with the processing of the application.
As an Oireachtas member, you can also request the status of individual immigration cases by e-mail, using the Oireachtas Mail facility at: IMoireachtasmail@justice.ie, which has been specifically established for this purpose. This service enables up to date information on such cases to be obtained without the need to seek information by way of the Parliamentary Question process.
