My Department is actively exploring the opportunities presented by artificial intelligence and the various policy considerations that arise. None of the Department’s current programmes or services are driven by Generative AI models.

A limited amount of research has been done within the Department’s ICT Unit on Large Language Models (LLM) that has incurred approximately €25,000 in infrastructure costs. There is no specific allocation for next year. There are no agencies under my Department’s aegis.
