The WRC Inspectorate is staffed by civil servants of my Department. WRC inspectors are ranked at Executive Officer (EO) Inspector and Higher Executive Officer (HEO) Inspector Team Managers (ITMs).
Using the Public Spending Code calculation, the yearly cost of recruiting an executive officer inspector for the WRC would be approximately €73,057 PPC. WRC inspectors also qualify for an allowance of €9,862 PPC, bringing the cost of recruiting one EO inspector to approximately €82,919 per annum. The cost of 70 inspectors at EO level is approximately €5,804,330.
WRC HEO/ITM inspectors also qualify for an allowance of €9,862 PPC, bringing the cost of recruiting one HEO/ITM inspector to approximately €108,546 per annum. The cost of 10 additional HEO ITM inspectors is €1,085,460.
The total cost of doubling the number of WRC inspectors is approximately €6,889,790 consisting of an additional 70 Inspectors and 10 Inspector Team Managers.
