I would like to advise the Deputy that I am currently being briefed by officials who advise that the Department has concluded its initial assessment of Waterford Airport’s development proposal in line with the requirements under the Department’s Transport Appraisal Framework and I am currently considering the next steps in this regard.

I can assure the Deputy that this Government is committed to working with all stakeholders to quickly progress the Waterford Airport project to lengthen and widen the runway, building on the previous Government decision of 2019.
