888. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine further to Parliamentary Question No. 336 of 7 November 2024, if further consideration will be given to the introduction of supports to help small-scale farm holders purchase neighbouring farm land when such options occur; if measures will be introduced to help reduce the sale of farm land to non-farming interests and particularly large-scale businesses; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has no plans to introduce supports for the purchase of land.

The position has not changed regarding measures to place restrictions on the sale of land. As previously stated, issues relating to the ownership of private property are subject to very significant and complex legal, constitutional and policy considerations. Any statutory limitations on the sale of farmland would be subject to such all of these considerations.
