To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government the number of new home completions in Dublin city in each of the years 2020-2024 inclusive, by local electoral area and type of dwelling (whether apartments or houses), in tabular form; the number of these homes that are affordable-purchase homes, as well as the number that are allocated for social housing; how many of these homes were purchased by investment funds; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Data on new dwelling completions are published on a quarterly basis by the CSO. The data is disaggregated by local authority and dwelling type (i.e. apartment, multi-development house and one-off house) and can be accessed at . Data on dwelling completions at a local area level can be accessed at , though a breakdown per dwelling type per local electoral area is not available.
Separately, my Department publishes comprehensive programme-level statistics on a quarterly basis on affordable housing delivery activity in each local authority. My Department also publishes the Social Housing Construction Status Report. The report details social housing developments, and their location, that have been completed, are under construction, or are progressing through the various stages of the design and tender processes. CSO dwelling completions data are not disaggregated by buyer type. That said, data on the number of homes purchased by different buyer types are published by the CSO, with data on new and existing homes purchased annually by non-household purchasers available at:
