My Department operates two capital funding programmes for sport, the Community Sport Facilities Fund (CSFF) and the Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund (LSSIF).
Cumulative investment from the LSSIF since 2020 now stands at €297 million, while over a quarter of a billion euro was allocated to community sports clubs and facilities, from the CSFF in 2024. This funding represents the largest-ever investment in sports facilities in communities across Ireland.
A range of Padel courts across the country were funded under the most recent 2023 round of CSFF and it is clear that this is a strongly-growing sport. In line with previous rounds of the programme, a review of the current funding round will be undertaken and that review will inform the details of the next round of the CSFF.
