To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the number of second level schools that have exchange programmes with other EU countries that are supported through the Erasmus programme; the number of students involved; the countries involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Léargas manages the relevant Erasmus+ activities under the aegis of my Department. According to data held by Léargas, please see below information relating to the Erasmus+ programme -

1. The Number of Second Level Schools with Erasmus+ funding

152 Second Level Schools have carried out learner mobilities between 2021 and 2024.

2. The Number of Students Involved

1074 Second Level Students have taken part in Erasmus+ funded mobility activities between 2021 and 2024.

3. The Countries Involved

· Austria

· Czechia

· Finland

· France

· Germany

· Hungary

· Ireland

· Italy

· Malta

· Netherlands

· Norway

· Poland

· Spain

Ireland supports the EU mobility policy for schools and teachers and, in particular, the Erasmus+ Programme. I hope that there will be the possibility for greater numbers of schoolchildren and teachers to participate in exchanges under Erasmus+ in the years ahead.
