To ask the Minister for Health the steps he is taking to ensure that a treatment (details supplied) is available for prostate cancer patients in Ireland for whom it is deemed medically suitable, given that the treatment can significantly extend the life of certain patients; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013, the HSE has statutory responsibility for decisions on the pricing and reimbursement of medicines and devices; therefore, the matter has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
