To ask the Minister for Health if a dedicated Lyme disease diagnosis and treatment facility can be set up, staffed and funded at University Hospital Kerry, adjacent to Killarney National Park, home of Ireland’s largest numbers of deer, largely responsible for the spread of this debilitating disease; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the deputy directly, as soon as possible.
