382. To ask the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform for an update on any potential property searches for the much-needed new Garda station for east Meath, to include details on any communications between the OPW and An Garda Síochána on same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A new Garda station for east Meath is a priority for both An Garda Síochána and the Office of Public Works. Both organisations have been working closely together to realise this goal. AGS has drafted a preliminary Business Case for a new station and this was received by the OPW late last year. The OPW has recently completed a market trawl for suitable sites in the area.

The results of the market trawl will be reviewed internally by the OPW with further meetings to be held with AGS to bring this part of the process to conclusion. The results of this review will dictate the next steps.
