Tusla Education Support Service (TESS) is the agency which can assist parents who are experiencing difficulty in securing a school place for their child. TESS can be contacted at 01-7718500 (tessinfo@tusla.ie) for assistance. More information is available on their website on the following link: www.tusla.ie/tess/tess-ews/.
The Department understands that the parent was contacted by TESS during the summer and offered advice on schools that could be considered for the student as the parent’s school of choice was oversubscribed. Where a school has no places available the Educational Welfare Service cannot compel a school to enrol a child. The parent should contact TESS if their child is without a school place via the contact details above.
