57. To ask the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment for an update on the work permit application of a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [45340/24]

The Employment Permits Section of my Department informs me that they have checked the application concerned and that an application for the renewal of a general employment permit in respect of the person concerned in the details supplied was received on the 19th of August 2024 and was placed in the processing queue on the 20th of August 2024. As the renewal application concerned was received prior to the expiry date of the current employment permit held, the person concerned can remain in their employment while waiting for their renewal application to be processed.

All applications for employment permits are dealt with in date order. As of Tuesday the 5th of November 2024, the Employment Permits Section are processing renewal applications in respect of standard employers that were received on the 26th of July 2024.

The Employment Permits processing times are updated on a weekly basis at the following link: www.enterprise.gov.ie/en/What-We-Do/Workplace-and-Skills/Employment-Permits/Current-Application-Processing-Dates/ .
