SOLAS has advised my officials that the numbers of students enrolling in Level 5 pre-nursing PLC courses were 1,347 in 2023/24 and 1,046 in 2024/25.

In addition, data for students enrolled on tertiary programmes for nursing outside of the CAO system is included in the table below. Starting their programme in further education, learners will progress seamlessly to guaranteed places to complete a fully accredited degree in higher education, as long as the learner reaches a required academic standard.
