The decision on eligibility for a student grant is a matter, in the first instance, for the centralised student grant awarding authority SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland) to determine.

An official from my Department has advised that the student outlined by the Deputy was awarded the €500 student contribution grant by the awarding authority, SUSI, for the 2024/2025 academic year.

SUSI received further supporting documents from the student on 23 October 2024 and their application is currently being reviewed. The student will be notified of the outcome of the review in due course.
