107. To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment the reason the Angling Consultative Council of Ireland (ACCI) established by himself in November 2020 has now been rebranded as the Angling Advisory Group (AAG); who the participants are in the AAG; the key policy targets of the AAG; why there was no public notification surrounding the revamp considering the overt and exuberant fanfare by his Department when the ACCI was formed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Angling Consultative Council of Ireland (ACCI) was renamed as the Angling Advisory Group (AAG) by agreement of the Group at its meeting in August 2024. The change was proposed and agreed principally because the new name more accurately reflects the purpose and function of Group and now clearly distinguishes it from the Angling Council of Ireland (ACI).

The renamed AAG comprises representatives from my Department, Inland Fisheries Ireland and national angling representative bodies who can input to policy development in the Inland fisheries sector.
