The school to which the Deputy refers was approved to enter the department’s pipeline for a project under my Department's Additional School Accommodation (ASA) Scheme. The project will provide a 2 classroom SEN base and a General Purpose room. The project was devolved for delivery to the school authority.

The Stage 1 Design Report for the project was received by my department.

My department has been in contact with the school authorities regarding the ASA project to organise a stage presentation with the school and design team which is due to take place on the 04 November 2024. The aim of this meeting is to review the preliminary drawings, to ensure compliance with Design Team Procedures and to ensure from a cost perspective that the project is in accordance with the requirements of the Public Spending Code.

Following this meeting my department will continue to engage with the school authority to provide practical advice and assistance on this very important project.
