366. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills if she will direct her Department to urgently engage with a school (details supplied) where the roof is in serious disrepair, is an active threat to the safety of pupils and staff, and in need of urgent works; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The school in question to which the Deputy refers submitted an application for funding under the Emergency Works Scheme (EWS) for roof works. The application in question is currently being assessed by technical area within the EWS team.
Once a technical recommendation has been received the EWS team will engage further with the school as appropriate. The EWS team is aware of the urgent nature of the works required and will keep the school informed throughout the process.
