47. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he is aware of the significant impact that An Bord Pleanála’s draft decision to limit the number of night-time flights at Dublin Airport's north runway would have on businesses, including an increase in uncertainty, instability, and costs, as well as impacts on the productivity of businesses, results in a knock-on impact on GDP; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am aware of the draft decision published on September 17 by An Bord Pleanála concerning the night time use of the runways at Dublin Airport.

The draft decision of the planning regulator provides for a number of conditions in relation to the operation of the runways at Dublin Airport. As the draft decision indicates that An Bord Pleanála is considering adopting noise mitigation measures and operating restrictions, it is required to hold a public consultation. Submissions or observations to the Board can be made by 23 December 2024.

I am encouraging all interested parties to make a submission to ABP in relation to the draft decision before the public consultation closes.
