378. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills if she will provide an update on the provision of two additional classrooms for a school (details supplied). [43095/24]

The school to which the Deputy refers was recently granted approval for the provision of two special educational needs classrooms under my department's Devolved SEN Reconfiguration and Modular Accommodation programme. This programme involves the use of Project Management supports which is designed to enable the accommodation to be provided as quickly as possible and help ease the administrative workload for school authorities in relation to the management and delivery of projects. The use of the Department’s Term Maintenance Framework also assists in ensuring lead-in periods for the procurement of contractors are minimised to the greatest extent possible.

Detailed design documentation has been submitted and reviewed by Department officials. A response has issued to the project manager concerned and a request for additional information made. When this is received the project will be given further consideration for progression to the next stage.
