393. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills if she will urgently intervene in the case of a child who is without a secondary school place in Limerick (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [43235/24]

My Department's main responsibility is to ensure that schools in an area can, between them, cater for all pupils seeking school places in the area. In relation to school admissions, it is the responsibility of the managerial authorities of all schools to implement an enrolment policy in accordance with the Education Act, 1998.
Tusla have advised that this family has been in contact with Educational and Welfare services (EWS) and has been allocated and Educational Welfare Officer (EWO). The allocated EWO is providing guidance and advice to the family. An application has been made for a suitable school placement and this young person is on the waiting list for admission. This young person is currently engaged in education via iScoil an online learning platform.
