I am wholly committed to supporting education opportunities for nurses and midwives in Ireland.
The HSE provides nurses and midwives with a range of options and resources to support continuing professional development. This includes funding for nurses and midwives who wish to apply to undertake a Certificate in Nursing / Professional Diploma Nurse and Midwife Prescribing Education Programme.
This funding is available to nurses and midwives employed by the HSE and HSE funded agencies (Section 38) and registered nurses employed by the Irish Prison Service (IPS) who meet the entry criteria.
The education programme is provided by a number of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
To apply for funding nurses and midwives be registered on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland Register. Further eligibility criteria can be found online at .
