To ask the Taoiseach the international events and engagements he has attended at which members of the media were also in attendance as part of the Government delegation, since the formation of the Government; the media organisation they represented; the cost involved to the taxpayer; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Members of the media have not been part of the Taoiseach’s delegation for international events and engagements during the lifetime of the current Government. The question of costs therefore does not arise.
The Department of the Taoiseach works closely with the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ireland’s overseas Missions and with the authorities of receiving countries and international organisations on all aspects of the arrangements for the Taoiseach’s international engagements.
This can include facilitating members of the Irish media who travel to cover a specific event or engagement.
