I propose to take Questions Nos. 228 and 229 together.

A vital part of my Department's mission is to support vibrant and sustainable communities across this country. My Department provides targeted investment and supports in both rural and urban communities, which improves lives, enables rural regeneration, facilitates new working opportunities and fosters regional enterprise growth. This is done through extensive collaboration and engagement with communities and wider stakeholders.

Since 2020, over €32 million in capital funding has been invested across County Kildare to support a wide range of schemes such as the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund, the LEADER Programme, the Town and Village Renewal Scheme, the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme, the Local Improvement Scheme, the Community/Local Enhancement Programme, the Community Centre Investment Fund, the Connected Hubs initiative, and the Libraries Capital Programme.

Also included is funding for smaller capital supports under schemes such as the Community Activities Fund and the Community Support Fund that provided supports to community groups impacted by COVID-19, particularly in disadvantaged areas.

An overview of capital funding allocations since 2020 across County Kildare is provided in the attached appendix.

Further information on all schemes and programmes, including details of successful applicants across all programmes can be found on my Department's website www.gov.ie/drcd.
