The Increased Cost of Business (ICOB) scheme has successfully paid out €243m to almost 75,000 SMEs right around the country, including over 38,000 SMEs in the retail and hospitality sector. The ICOB scheme is now closed to registrations.

On 15 May, the Government announced a second grant payment for retail and hospitality and beauty sectors for the same amount as the initial grant.

This was due to the greater impact that increased costs are having on those sectors (as noted in the DETE-DSP joint working paper titled “An assessment of the cumulative impact of proposed measures to improve working conditions in Ireland”).

Tattoo Companies do not fall under the eligible categories.
