The two applications referred to by the Deputy were deemed invalid under the terms and conditions of the Community Sport Facilities Fund (formerly the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme). Along with other invalid applications they will be offered an opportunity to appeal the Department's decision. As part of this appeal they may submit any documents that were missing or incomplete in their original application.

The application by the first club referred to was deemed invalid as it did not include sufficient evidence that it owned or had access to the land that it wished to develop. During the assessment period the club was offered a second chance to submit this documentation but failed to do so.

The second club referred to did not submitted evidence of matching funding in the required format. During the assessment period the club was offered a second chance to submit this documentation but failed to do so.

Both clubs will have a chance to submit corrected documents as part of any appeal.
