As Ireland’s Governor at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), I plan to travel to Washington D.C. later this month to attend the IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings. These meetings provide me with a valuable opportunity to engage with finance ministers from around the world, along with leading figures from the IMF and World Bank to discuss current and emerging economic, fiscal and monetary developments. I hope to meet with Managing Director of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva, over the course of my visit, and therefore do not plan to invite Ms. Georgieva to Ireland before the end of this year.
