Tusla Education Support Service (TESS) is the agency which can assist parents who are experiencing difficulty in securing a school place for their child. TESS can be contacted at 01-7718500 () for assistance. More information is available on their website on the following link: .
The Department understands that the parent was contacted by TESS during the summer and offered advice on schools that could be considered for the student as the parent’s school of choice was oversubscribed. Advice was given to the parent around the section 29 appeals process. The parent was advised to contact TESS if the child remained without a school place at the end of the summer, however the parent has not been in contact. TESS have advised that they will contact the parent this week to discuss the matter.
