I and my Office of Public Works officials have been working intensively over the summer with Roscommon County Council, state bodies and engineering and environmental consultants to progress the interim plan and works for Lough Funshinagh which includes seeking planning consent from An Bord Pleanála for the Curraghboy temporary pipeline and pumping solution ahead of next winter.
The necessary work is nearing completion and Roscommon County Council intend to submit this planning application to An Bord Pleanála this week.
I will be meeting with the local community and elected representatives on Thursday 19th September to give an update on the proposed works and the associated planning application. This will be my fourth such meeting with the local community and elected representatives.
