241.To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he has plans to cover DAA employed fire service personnel in terms of the increased retirement age from 60 to 62 for local authority firefighters under the Local Government (Superannuation) (Consolidation) (Amendment) Scheme 2024 legislated for by the Oireachtas in July; if not, will he provide the reasons; and if he will make a statement on the matter.[34842/24]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 241 and 242 together.

The relevant legislation that pertains to airport police and fire services employed at State airports is the , as amended. Airport police and airport fire service are "authorised officers" under this legislation, and are employees of the relevant airport management company. The terms and conditions of employment of employees at our State Airports is a matter for each individual airport management company.
