Under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has statutory responsibility for the promotion of road safety awareness, advertising, and the dissemination of road safety information. In this regard, the information being requested is held by the RSA.
I have therefore referred the question to the Authority for direct, detailed reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response is not received within 10 days.
I am aware that the RSA perform market research on target demographics prior to commissioning particular advertising campaigns. Different campaigns may have different target audiences against whom it is anticipated the campaign will resonate.
I should add that I am currently engaged in a wider review of the RSA’s organisation and operations and a decision on its future remit and structure will be made shortly.
