I am advised that my Department is not in a position to provide the emissions associated specifically with people, who live closer to other airports, travelling to Dublin airport. While certain data exists to analyse transport emissions across certain specific use cases, this cannot be done to the level of granularity requested here.
The Department does not hold specific data on where the journeys of passengers transiting Dublin airport originate from or the reason they chose to travel to Dublin. Nor does it have any specific data on the proportion of car journeys taken for this purpose that are via e.g. electric vehicles. Such information would be required to calculate the figure the Deputy has requested.
Passengers who decide to travel to Dublin Airport are encouraged to travel sustainably wherever possible.
