1475.To ask the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth the capital work projects funded by his Department that were carried out at Oberstown Children's Detention Campus in 2023 and to-date in 2024; and the future capital works that are scheduled to be funded by the Department that will take place at campus between now and end of 2025, in tabular form.[35203/24]

Capital work projects at Oberstown Children Detention Campus are carried out under a five year capital programme which was developed in 2022. The capital plan is underpinned by the Oberstown Strategy 2022-2026, with all capital projects linked to the strategic objectives of Oberstown.

The main objectives of the capital programme are to support effective care of young people, to enhance buildings and infrastructure, and to ensure that the infrastructure is maintained to a high standard. Oberstown is committed to becoming a sustainable, low carbon organisation, and has also developed capital projects that aim to realise the potential benefits of energy usage reduction and carbon emissions reduction.
