The numbers of political staff employed by my Department from 2020 onwards are as follows:
Post/Job Title | Number | Salary |
---|---|---|
Special Adviser | 10 | PO/AP Salary Scale |
Civilian Driver | 6 | Civilian Driver rate |
Staff seconded in to constituency offices | 3 | EO Salary Scale (2)CO Salary Scale (1) |
These are total numbers, serving at various times throughout the time since my appointment to the post of Minister of Agriculture, Food and the Marine in September 2020. It should also be noted that Parliamentary Assistants and Secretarial Assistants are employed under the Scheme for the Provision of Secretarial Assistance for Members of the Houses of the Oireachtas and Qualifying Parties (available atwww.oireachtas.ie/en/members/salaries-and-allowances/scheme-for-secretarial-assistance/) and not directly by my Department.
