Disability Allowance (DA) is a weekly allowance paid to people with a specified disability who are aged 16 or over and under the age of 66. This disability must be expected to last for at least one year and the allowance is subject to medical assessment, means test and habitual residency conditions.
Following a change in the person's circumstances, my Department received supporting documentation, on behalf of the person concerned, on 17 July 2024 along with the request to conduct a review of their DA rate of payment,
Based on the information provided, their DA payment has been increased with effect from 19 June 2024. The first payment of this new rate was issued on 07 August 2024. The person concerned was notified in writing of this decision on 31 July 2024.
Arrears of payment due from 19 June 2024 to 06 August 2024 issued to the person concerned on 01 August 2024.
I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
