802.To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government if Housing for All targets will be reviewed and updated, given the significant migration in recent years; if funding will be allocated to these updates in Budget 2025; and if he will make a statement on the matter.[34406/24]

My Department is currently developing revised housing targets for the period from 2025 onwards. This work is being undertaken with regard to, among other things, recently published research by the ESRI on population projections and structural housing demand.

I expect it to be completed and revised targets to published later in the Autumn.

It is too early to confirm what the final targets will be. Nonetheless, they will likely exceed an average of 50,000 per year to account for new household formation in the coming years and latent demand.

While details of the financing required, Exchequer and private, will be published with the revised targets, annual public expenditure requirements will be decided each year as part of the Budget process agreed with the Minister for Public Expenditure, NDP Delivery and Reform. While I am confident the Exchequer allocation for my Department in 2025 will have regard to the step-change in housing delivery anticipated next year, actual allocations will not be decided until the Budget in early October.
