I can confirm the school to which the Deputy refers has been granted approval for the provision of four mainstream classrooms, one science laboratory, and the reconfiguration of existing accommodation to create two Special Education Needs classrooms, under my Department's Devolved SEN Reconfiguration and Modular Accommodation programme.

This programme involves the use of Project Management supports which is designed to enable the accommodation to be provided as quickly as possible and help ease the administrative workload for school authorities in relation to the management and delivery of projects. The use of my Department's Devolved SEN Reconfiguration and Modular Accommodation programme also assists in ensuring lead in periods for procurement of contractors are minimised to the greatest extent possible.

This approach has proven successful in the educational sector, particularly in delivering large-scale, high-quality modular facilities for children with special educational needs.

The reconfiguration work has begun on-site and is scheduled for completion in November 2024.

The modular project is set to commence on-site by the end of this month and is expected to take approximately 5 months, with an anticipated completion of Q2 2025.
